Athens and Turkey

Hello friends,

Here is an update on my journey. Again the pictures will tell the stories.

This is our plane that took us to Madrid. We had to fly to Greece via Madrid. In Greece they had a strike so we had to wait on the runway for 3 hours before we arrived in Athens. When we finally arrived we could not found any transport because of the strike and had to sleep on the airport. The next morning the strike was over and we could use the brilliant public transport system of Greece.

This is the view from outside our hostel where we stayed. We managed to negotiate the rate down to 10 Euro a night. The manager was very friendly and we really liked staying here.

This was one of our meals. It was expensive but we later learned where to buy cheaper food. Its amazing but we got by on a budget of 1 Euro per person for the next two days!

This is the amazing view from Mars hill. You can see the whole of Athens from this point. This part of our journey entails visiting some of the historical sites in the Bible. Mars Hill is the site where Paul spoke to the people of Athens in Acts 17. It is also the place where the people of Athens shared new ideas and debated.

The other side of Athens. When you arrive in Athens you are surprised at the sheer amount of Graffiti. Its just everywhere you look, even on some of the historic buildings.

After visiting Greece we mad our way to Turkey. This is the city of& nbsp; Ephesus. We will visit the archeological sites later and will also try and find a place where we can serve the people here in Ephesus, now called Kusadasi.

The team is in good spirit and we are really enjoying ourselves. At this stage we are just regular tourist. Hopefully we will soon find a place where we can make difference.
