Freaking turkey! Not the bird, the country! It wasn't my favorite place but man I learnt a lot about trusting God! And letting him lead you no matter how hectic it looks!
Starting in Istanbul after being flipping sick, I recovered then we hitchhiked or auto-stopped to Ismir which was amazing, trekking with my leader Louw I really learnt a lot about his intricate personality! Which was nice!
We where blessed so much meeting Random people who just bought us food and drove us far, it's also fun trying to speak to a Turkish person who can't speak a word of English! It's like speaking to a wall that makes sounds back and looks like a human!!
Something funny Louw said was " it's funny how he keeps talking in Turkish like we know what he's saying" then my reply was "but we are doing the same thing, trying to make him understand English !" Haha it was really funny! Then Louw and I camped in a park because it took about two days to get to Izmir!
We got woken up at 1am being told to move, but then the Boss guy come and said we can sleep there! When we arrived in Izmir we had no place to sleep so what could we do ?
We camped in the park, then got woken up and told to move by like every single police man and then we actually had to move so that the people could wet the trees? Like what kind of job is wetting trees ?
I was so frustrated but it's that frustration where you just laugh at it ! We did that for two days then we got hold of couch surfer and that saved us.
This awesome lady took all 11 of us in made us food and washed our clothes and we each had an amazing shower !
We then found a place - an olive farm further away out of the city which we went to and flip it was awesome we got real Turkish farm food ! And we built another fence and cut wood and planted tomatoes ! Ruben and I rode a donkey, which was cool!
So closer to the end of this country I enjoyed it, but for me I didn't enjoy this place as much as the other places, the people for me were so colorful and nice but I just didn't like the city's vibe wasn't that kosher for me ! Now we are off to Macedonia !!
