Boys time

Hello my beloved bretheren,
I would like to say "Here is David," but I can't because its my first blog, and the first blog of my life. We will see what will happen...

I would like to jump right into a special phase in the first month of our training in Jeffreys Bay. The Get-to-know-each-other-time was already over and suddenly we jumped into some kind of Get-too-know-each-other-even-better-time. I'm not allowed to talk about "Survivor“,  but what I can say: “Suffering connects” ;D After that we had the privilege of regenerating for two days in a remote school hostel in the South African Outback. And so the story begins...

Our return to Jefferys Bay was very interestesting when the becomming ladies and gentleman of God separated for the weekend. I don't know what the ladies did. I heard something about emotional stuff and dressing responsibly as daughters of God. (This is one of those moments where my two brothers, Jonas and Joe, would have a big smile on their face :D) The men talked about their hearts. How God put 3 longings in every man's heart: Every man desires to, - fight a battle, -live an adventure and rescue a beauty. That sounds like a stereotype and indeed it is, but its biblical and true.

Man is created in the image of God, and when we look at Jesus we will find these exact three features/longings/aims:

Jesus has a battle to fight (I think Paul calls it “the good battle of faith”; this battle isn't without an enemy, we all know who the enemy is; the good thing is, we already know who won the battle; nevertheless we have to fight!),

Jesus had an adventurous life (He always took the step out of the boat; He didn't always know what will come next but He did have faith that it will work out  because he was always connected to our Heavenly Father!)

And Jesus has a beauty to rescue (the bride; He is the groom and we are the bride He has to rescue; the twist in that is, that there is still a big part of the bride imprisoned in the tower!)

We as men have to step upto our calling, follow in Jesus' track and fight this battle with Him. Battle means it wont be that easy at all times, be aware! Let us live this adventure and rescue His bride. (We are his bride, but we rescue His bride; I hope you understand!)

Men, we are in charge, we have the responsibility.

That's a big thing...

...but start to live big!
