As the common cliche would have it: Life's a journey and not a destination. The implication is such that one should enjoy every aspect on the road- no matter how rough, tough, tired or otherwise "woes" the circumstances get. I, for one, feel the need to highlight that in these "less-than-happy-kodak-moments" I don't always smile at the though of running out of toilet paper in countries where none is required, or mistaking an innocent bowl of noodles for another native dish. But as this journey of ours is one of the heart, let me rather take a different approach...
Be not conformed to the ways of the world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Jesus is all about our hearts attitude which influences our thoughts and actions. When He came and showed a new way of life, His heart was fully involved. At times I tend to forget this as its so easy to focus on my own comforts instead of seeing His heart for the people. But that is why we're here: To be His hands and feet in spite of ourselves.
Arriving in Jbay was the first adventure- beach, new friends, pet store... but mostly, a family. Its just classic seeing our team make fools of them selves (yes, i too share a part in these photos) and making the best of memories! My clothes still shower beach sand as I walk since Ivan dragged me by my arm, caveman style, across the beach as I was paralyzed with laughter after our crash. These are times that not even Kodak, Cannon or Lumix can fully capture.
So, perhaps these bad times ahead, in hind sight, can be worth the frustrations and embarrassments at the time. Because, to get from where you are to where you are going is, after all, a journey and one of the heart- if your attitude and mind is willing to be renewed.
