The way of life...Psalm 16:11

In the beginning of this year God gave me a promise in the book of Psalms which meant so much to me. Psalm 16:11 grabbed my heart and through out this year I have kept it in my heart and I saw how this promise was being fulfilled everyday. It is written that the promises of God is our armor and protection. When life gets difficult it is always amazing how you can go back and read the promises God gave you and immediately it will lighten up your face.

I once thought that you just follow a dream you have and you achieve it, be the best at it, retire and then you die. Now when I look back there isn't eternal value in that. I thought one day I will play for the Springboks, earn a lot of money and that would just be the way of my life, until God came and He wrapped His fingers around me and He called me for bigger things, things worth living for. While we were in New Zealand during the Rugby World Cup I missed playing rugby and I missed being part of a team.

During the opening ceremony all the guys went to experience the World Cup fever and I decided to stay and spend time in the Word and to watch the movie Faith like potatoes. That night God came and He showed me again what He called me for and that He wants to use me for His Kingdom. God gave me Isaiah 62:10-12 and it says:"Go through, Go through the gates!Prepare the way for the people; Build up, Build up the highway! Take out the stones, Lift up a banner for the peoples! Indeed the LORD has proclaimed To the end of the world: “ Say to the daughter of Zion, ‘ Surely your salvation is coming; Behold, His reward is with Him,  And His work before Him.’” And they shall call them The Holy People, The Redeemed of the LORD; And you shall be called Sought Out, A City Not Forsaken."

He called me to go to the ends of the earth and to prepare the way for His people, to build them up and to take out the stones and to LIFT A BANNER IN A PLACE WHERE THERE IS NOT YET ONE LIFTED. There is a place where tha flag of Zion does not fly and I want to go and put it up.
God showed me this year that all of us are part of something big and it is our choice if we want to be part of it or not. We are part of God's army. We were called to fight!!! There is so many people who doesn't know God. And you might just be ther person to tell them about Jesus Christ. I find so much pleasure in working for the Kingdom and it is my only desire to work for the Lord. Psalm 16:11 goes on and it says that He will grant me the joy of His presence. Sometimes God will just romance your heart and you will experience His presence and the smile on your face is just to big to handle. He doesn't just say I will show you the way of life but He will also grant you the joy of His presence and then it goes on and He says " and pleasures of living with Him forever." God promises us that He will show us the way of life, He will grant us the joy of His presence and the pleasures of living with Him forever. It is so amazing to know that the living God grants us eternal life.

For me the way of life is to do everything I can to advance His Kingdom and to tell people about Him, through the Holy Spitit leading me in His perfect ways. Now I'm able to see that God is bigger than rugby. Now I can sleep at night knowing there is bigger things to come. Now I now there is a purpose. Now I can smile rather than walking off the rugby field angry, thinking I played bad or I am not good enough or we didn't qualified for this or that tournament. Now I know there is something worth fighting for and that is to fight for the souls of people who are lost and to win them for God's glory and Kingdom. But whatever God calls you for, whether it is working from 9-5 or to be a lawyer or an engineer, where ever you work that is your mission field, that is your ministry. Use it to tell people about Him. Be a soldier for Christ and fight for what you stand!!!

A year of Global Challenge will change your life forever. God will show you the way of life and He will also show you what He has called you for, whether for missions or for a 9-5 job.  God will give you His words of wisdom so that you might give a word in season for the weary one. (Isaiah 50:4)  The amazing thing about God is you don't have to work to be part of the team, you don't have to qualify to work for Him, He grants you life and a life in abundance and He has plans for us to prosper. (Jer 29:11)

I encourage you to pray and ask the Lord to give you promises and see how He will fulfill everyone of them on a year at GCEX and through out your life. You will never be the same!

God called me to raise a banner for the people and I want to go out and raise it high enough for everyone to see.

Here is a photo of me giving up rugby to work for His Kingdom.
