Fruitful Cameroon

From the moment we were welcomed by white smiles in dark faces, letters on the doors of our new place we will call home for three weeks and a cooked meal which took lots of effort, we knew that our time in Cameroon will be special… We have just entered the land of hospitality and fruitfulness. An exhortation nation.

Besides that fact that we ate pineapples and bananas until we thought we’ve hit the fruit basket in Africa, our ministry time, plowing and digging and planting we did into Arsene and Nadesh’s church (Revival for all Nations), already yielded much fruit. We saw men, women and children encouraged and enabled to do the things Holy Spirit taught us to do. We got to spend time with 11 families in the church, eating and praying together. The ladies in our team ministered restoration in identity in Christ and inner healing to the women in the church. We saw people being delivered from demonic strongholds and emotional wounds. And we spend good time with the youth.

Our theme for the time was hearing God’s voice and flowing in prophetic ministry. We boldly gave them the message that Cameroon is an exhortation nation and that they should step up in their gift from Father. On Sundays, either Wayne or Howard would preach in the church, after we led the worship. I ministered to the children and gave a children’s ministry workshop to the passionate, child-loving ladies in the church. For 3 days we did a seminar on our golden thread theme for the three weeks. We taught the people how to hear God’s voice and that you can hear God’s voice no matter what age, spiritual level, gender or position you are.
We also did an exercise Uncle Joe did with us in Jeffreys bay during training. One half of the people stand around the room, eyes closed. Someone from the other half walks up to them, touch their shoulder and Mr. or Mrs. Closed-eyes should start prophesying whatever Holy Spirit tells them to say. The people were amazed that they don’t need a title, like “prophet” or “reverent” or “apostle”, to be used by God to encourage someone.

One of the things that touched our hearts the most was their absolute gift of sacrificial hospitality. All the families we visited were over-joyed having us. They cooked for us and served us like we were kings and queens. One Mama (title for an elderly lady and also a term of respect, even for young ladies walking in positions of authority) had no money the day before we came. Then Father provided for her money so that she can receive us and cook for us a true Cameroonian delicacy. The house we stayed in was Mama Desiree’s. She just gave her whole house for us and moved out for the three weeks. Wow!

The evening of saying good-bye, tears flowed freely. We were sad to leave but so extremely happy to already see the fruit of our labor in that short time. The church members gave us prophetic gifts and blessed us with prophetic colors and Scripture – just as we taught them! We knew that we sowed into very fertile ground and none of our pearls were picked up by pigs, but by people who realized the value of it. We left Cameroon feeling satisfied in our spirits of the work that Father had done.
