Prayers for Myanmar...

In one of Jack Johnson’s song he sings about news readers not even being sad when they report about someone who died. I agree with him. News readers show no compassion. I believe that some of the severity of a case is sometimes lost due to this. I have taken it upon myself so translate to you the situation in Myanmar.

On Saturday (a week ago) Myanmar was hit by a cyclone. Killing over 22 000 people and leaving over 40 000 people missing. Up to date the Myanmar government would not accept any help from anyone. They are spending their time and money on locking down the border posts instead of helping those in need. This is what the news tells you.

This is what I tell you: Right now, there are little children without a home, food, clothes, lost, alone without parents or family. There are wives looking or mourning for their husbands and children. Husbands not knowing where to start searching for their families. Parents not being able to find any food to feed their hungry children. There are corpses of humans and animals lying around, bloated and reeking. These people have NO FOOD, NO DRINKING WATER, NO SHELTER, NO WHERE TO GO, and NO WHERE TO HIDE. Can you imagine? I can’t! n

All I beg of you is to take a few minutes and pray for these people. Pray that God would have mercy. That He would be there, that He would comfort, provide and give wisdom. Pray that the government would allow aid to enter the country, pray that people around the world would realise that your time might be now. Pray that through this disaster, souls would be saved! I’m not going to tell you what to pray for – just pray! PLEASE!
