A Life Like No Other

A Life Like No Other!!!  This phrase truly explains what I am feeling.  My life is like no other!! I have been sooooo BLESSED to experience God's world.  I came to South Africa expecting to be sitting in an office preparing for the upcoming 80 Days Trip.  To my surprise, three days after I arrived I was asked to join a group of adults on a journey through AFRICA.

There were 6 4x4 trucks going up to Tanzania to pick up the Global Challenge team to bring them home to South Africa.  The 6 vehicles only had drivers so there was space as long as the passengers flew home.  God opened so many doors and I was able to join them on this incredible journey.  WHO DOES THIS??  We started the journey from Jeffrey's Bay, South Africa on September 30th.  We drove through Botswana where we saw wild elephants, giraffes, zebras, warthogs, and even a lion (i was sleeping for this one :().  We then crossed the Zambizi river into Zambia where we saw Victoria Falls.  At one of the campgrounds we stayed at there were Hot Springs.  We drove for about 15 hours each day.  It was bumpy and HOT, but one of the coolest experiences I have ever had.  We arrived in Arusha, Tanzania on October 5th.  We went to the same village that I ministered in last year.  What a blessing to see all my Tanzanian friends.  One lady dropped the 5 gallon bucket of water from her head when she saw me.  Then, she ran to me like in a movie.  It was so cute.  They were seriously shocked to see me again.  They all said they have prayed that I would return.  ANSWERED PRAYER!!  When I was there last year I met a little girl named Jacqueline who could not walk.  We prayed for her and saw her get strength in her legs, but I was never sure what the result was...until I got there this year and she RAN to me.  She walks to school now and can function like a typical kid.  GOD IS SO AMAZING!!!  I got to teach at a primary school where one of the translators from last year works.  His kids all knew my name and have been praying for me this whole year!! How cute??  After a week in Arusha, we went to Zanzibar Island.  I actually struggled there a bit because of the extreme poverty. I have never seen living conditions such as this.  The island itself, the beaches, were the most beautiful I have ever seen.  But to get to these beautiful beaches you have to drive through the slums.  It was hard to truly ENJOY the time there because of the need.  I tried to focus on God's beauty and be thankful for that.  God's world is so amazing!!  I made friends with two locals and was invited to spend the night with them.  They braided my hair and made me dinner.  It was a really fun night.  On October 16th I flew back to Jeffrey's Bay, South Africa.  I am now back in the office doing logistical work for the upcoming 80 Days Trip!!  I will be attached to my computer for the next month!!  Thank you for your continued support and prayers!!
