Not all lights chases away darkness...

Hong Kong is a city like any other big city.  Many people, pretty lights, expensive shops, tall buildings and signs you can't read...

Our first country in the Far East, Hong Kong.  You hear many stories about people eating frogs and snakes in China.  Yes, that is true, we found them in the market.

But luckily, the week we spent in this vibrant city, we stay with a South African family.  What a blessing it was!  Not only because of the biltong, droë wors, fresh koeksisters and boerewors rolls (with Mr. Ball's chutney!) that they blessed us with, but more so for allowing us into their lives.  Thank you Lord for fellowship!

A few of my highlights of the week:

Marlene and I helped Juanita to paint a few canvases for a music show she's hosting.  It was so much fun!  I even got to paint my own little piece of art.

While we were on Madrid's airport, I found pair of jeans that doesn't fit anyone, so I made a bag from it!  I hardly thought I could mend a button.   It just proves that you can do anything you set your mind to.

We met up with a ministry in Hong Kong, which blessed me, personally, so much.  We didn't spend a lot of time with them, but you don't need days to be impacted by someone.  Not when God is so evident in their lives.  Thank you guys for your humility and the way you love and trust Jesus.  We spent an evening with them, praying for their missionaries on the field, sending out new missionaries to the field and just sharing testimonies.

Man, I was even able to play tennis!  My favourite thing in the world!!

Even though, Hong Kong was really amazing and I'm extremely excited for future ministry in the city, I went through Hong Kong, feeling estranged from God.  That's the first attack of the devil, attacking your mind, making you feel like God became a stranger in your relationship with Him.  He makes you "feel" like God is far.  The result is that you believe the lies and start living your life alone; because you don't feel like God is there, you should probably try and do it all by yourself.  I doubted the love of God, because it didn't feel like He was near and so I gave in to fear.  We fear because we don't fully grasp the love of God, because perfect love casts out fear.  (1 John 4:18)  I'm grateful that my relationship with God and my salvation isn't based on my feelings.

God loves us with a perfect love.

That is who He is.

The great I am.

He doesn't change.

God puts before us life and death.

He gives us the free will to choose.

I choose to believe in Your perfect love.

I choose life, Lord.

I choose You!

Jesus is and stay Lord!

Also in the Far East, that is the message I will proclaim!
