There are good times, there are bad times, times of joy to the full, times of deep sadness, times we believe we are in control and times we clearly understand we are not. Do we know what will happen next in our lives? Certainly not. Although sometimes we wish we are able to. As many scenarios plays itself out in our lives, we begin to realise that the pen writing the story of our life is not in our own hands but in the hands of Another, One Who is far more creative, witty and funny than us.
Even more of a realisation is the fact that you can't really choose the characters of your story or control how they react. But part of the story they are.
Intertwined with your choices and ideas and ways of thinking. The Writer is making it work, bringing a masterpiece to the pages - for you it could be tough but, trust me, He has your best in mind. I actually encourage you to release your blank pages to Him. It will come to be an inter flowing of two stories - your choices and His ideal plan.
This Writer knows how to take control of the thread of a story. His ink never runs dry, although it sometimes feels to us like it does because, if it were us writing, the pauses wouldn't be so long and we would take care to explain every detail to ourselves. Because I have the right to know what is going on and what is coming next in the story. Wow, writing it on my own would be so easy - or would it?
Because, see, we can not and do not know what is up ahead. The sharp curved bend in the road or hairpin turn is obscured from our view and even though you think you know what is up ahead, we are, most often than not, (sorry to say) wrong.
Fortunately He has the insights about the realities of what it will take and what needs to happen - to make you more like Him.
How will you react...your choice. His control over what you have given Him and more, stretches beyond your reach. Give Him more chance to steer, if He is writing the story - you might as well give Him full permission into the realm of every thing that you are. The story will have more flavour and fullness and body to it and it will be more His flavour than yours.
And if you are unsure or don't know why the river, which is your story, has so many bends and twists in it. Remember its all part of the divine creativeness.
