During the last 6 months or so the Lord has been speaking to me about being Holy and the areas concerning that. I want to share with you what the Father has placed on my heart.....
Leviticus 19:2 says, "Be holy for I the Lord your God am holy!" Here we can see that God demands us to be holy. It's not a question, but rather a statement. So in fact God is asking us to be sacred or set apart for Him. Why? 2 Timothy 2:21 says the following, "If anyone purifies himself from these things, he will be a special instrument, set apart, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work."
By being holy, we are useful to God! We MUST be holy before the Lord. God demands holiness and nothing less. It's not something that we have to strive for, as God's children we HAVE been made holy through what Christ has done for us. We just have to live a holy life that is pleasing to God.
Why do we still struggle with the sins of this world and compromise in so many areas of our life? We can't serve God half-hearted. It's either full out or we can just leave it.
In God's Kingdom there are no grey areas. Things are either right or wrong! We have to stop with our petty excuses for why there are so many sins in our life. Paul says that we should lay aside every sin that ensnares us and run the race that is set before us with endurance.
God hates sin and in James it states that friendship with the world is hostility toward God! We wonder why God doesn't move or why miracles are so scarce, but then we do the very things that the Lord hates!!! We MUST stop with our lies, our coarse and foolish talking, our crude joking and the list goes on. There is no place in the Kingdom of God for these things.
The problem is that our gauge is wrong! We measure ourselves against the wrong things and then in our own eyes we don' t look that bad. That is wrong!!! Our only gauge should be Christ and against that we fall so very very short. All that we can do is just to humble ourselves before the Lord and receive the abundant grace that He freely gives.
Blessings
Marcel
