Transkei - Awakening of the soul by the filling of the Spirit.

We spend the last two weeks in the Transkei. The first week we were in Coffee Bay where we helped to renovate a small Christian school. While we were building, fixing, painting and moving around things in the school and the house of the lady who started it, God was doing the same in the houses of our souls. We had teachings on Spiritual warfare and deliverance, where we learned to face our sins and mistakes and to give them to Jesus so that He can free us. We were filled with the fullness of the Holy Spirit so that He can equip us during the year and the rest of our lives.

Coffee Bay is one of the most beautiful places we've ever seen, but there are a lot of ugly things going on there. Hippies are everywhere and most of the people there party all through the day and night. They offer you weed and magic mushrooms as if it's a cup of coffee. It is evident, though that God's is working wonders in that community, right in the middle of all that darkness.

We pray that God will use that school to raise up children of God, who can stand up in that community and be the light so that the Holy Spirit can work through them to make a difference in that Coffee Bay.

Matthew 5:14-16
New International Version (NIV)
   14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

In the second week we went to a mission station in Canzibe where we interacted a lot more with the Xhosa people and learned more about their culture and their traditions.
We saw and experienced the huge contrast between our Western culture and lifestyle and theirs. We have so much resources and our lives are so busy that we convince ourselves we don't have time for God. The Xhosa people, on the other hand, have nothing and they have all the time in the world, but most of them don't have a relationship with God. They know about God and Jesus, but the knowledge that they have is very limited and it is all head knowledge, not heart knowledge yet. I believe that they just need to meet Jesus and build a relationship with Him. If they will have a strong bond with Him, I believe that He will break any other bonds (like ancestor worhip) that should not be there.

We saw a little bit of what it means to lay your life down for whatever it is God is calling you for. It might mean sacrificing your hopes and dreams for God's dreams and it is definately not always easy, but if you walk and remain in the spirit and walk with Jesus, following God's will you will have an abundant life. If you walk in God's will he will dream with you and help you to accomplish those dreams. God does not want to limit us. In fact we limit ourselves when we don't follow Jesus, because then we can never experience the wild, crazy, fun and abundant life that He has planned for us. We dream silly little things like: "I want a nice home, a good job and a nice family one day."

God's dreams for you are so much better than the dreams that you have for yourself, because He created you and He has an amazing plan for your life. When God dreams with you, it is so amazing, because with Him anything is possible. The best thing about dreaming with God is that you can be certain that your dreams will come true, because God does not dream something if He does not intend to see it come to pass.

Romans 8:28

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

God will increase your capacity and He never increases capacity that he does not intend to fill.We need to surrender to Jesus and be willing to live a slow life.

S = Serve
L = Love
O = Obey
W = Worship
You have to be willing to lay down your hopes, dreams and ambitions for God's will, if you want to call yourself a true believer and follower of Jesus. You have to surrender all that you are and all that you have to all that He is. Allow God to awake your soul by filling you with His Holy Spirit. Your life will be crazy, wild, weird and wonderful!
