The striking color and patterns of their Saris drew my attention, but there was something else... something that fascinated me, or rather disturbed me. While I was staring at them I realized they had no emotion or expressions on their faces. No smile, no frown and no reaction. The thought struck me: "They are dead from the inside".
I was wondering what lied behind those dark, mysterious eyes. What lied within that hidden inner self and what potential did they have within them? What talents, gifts and Godly characteristics, but most of all, the inner joy within them that comes from the Holy Spirit alone. Would it ever be fully exposed? These Hindu women do not know Jesus Christ. They live only for the "next life" thinking they will be re-incarnated as a better, happier and richer person. The saddest part being that there would not be a second change, that there would not be a "next life". For we only have one life here on earth. And they did not even know it!
God created each one of them without fault and in His image.
"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well" Ps 139: 14
My heart's desire is that this verse will be revealed to these women, that they will realize what it means and live according to it. To know that they are "fearfully and wonderfully" made and to live a life in abundance, with joy that comes from God alone. A beauty that comes from inside and not from what they wear or how many pieces of jewelry cling to their body. That they will live a life free from Satan's bondage and the lies that he has imprinted in their minds.
My prayer is that these women may come to know God as their Father, husband, protector, provider, and most of all, The Lover of their souls.
