So during this stopover time in America I developed my photos so far onto CDs so I can actually share some of my photos with you...here goes!
On the way to the children's home...
Cricket...India vs South Africa
The front gate as seen through the metal grate on the windows.
My friend Babulan...
In case you cannot tell my hands are green and blue with a little yellow here and there...I was touching up some of their artwork on the walls...fingerpainting always
fun!
I like taking some photos at a slight angle...here is a photo taken from pizza hut, that shows what a street in India looks like. They are filled with rickshaws (bicycle taxis), took tooks (small motorized taxis), animals, bicycles, motorcycles, cars, buses, and pretty much anything else you can think of!
Each child was treated to a personal pan pizza at pizza hut...some of these kids have never been to pizza hut, those who have been were taken by a team in 2006! This natural act of stopping at Pizza Hut for food was a special treat for these kiddos...they enjoyed their pizza and lots of ketchup on it!
Part of their Christmas lunch was the special treat of a cup of fanta or coke! The kids patiently lined up, took their cup and sat down to drink it...some drank slowly savoring it, others couldn't help themselves, they gulped it down!
We visited the Taj Mahal briefly...here is the Red Team...Marliaan, Marna, Monica and Elsabe!!
This is a close-up of a piece of the detail work on the Taj Mahal...the colored part was constructed by etching the design out of the marble then laying in the semi-precious stones...there is so much carving and detail work...no wonder it took 25 years to build!
We visited Gulmarg in the Himalayas... beautiful... and my one chance to see snow this winter!! We also learned to ski there...I don't have any photos on my camera of me skiing, however my friends do. But I do have this one of me...
We took a cable car up...this is the tallest gondola in the world and would take you up to the tallest ski slope in Asia...we could only go half way, but the view from half way was spectacular!! It was cold!!
r This is beautiful Sapna painting my nails moments before we are leaving! My hands were two different colors of pink!
Psalm 46:10 in the Hindi Bible...
Be still and know that I am God, I will be exalted among the nations I will be exalted in the earth.
Just look at that beautiful brown hand!! Elsabe was playing thumb wars with one of her small group girls! These are the hands we held, the hands that reached out to play with our hair, the hands that swept the floors, carried the water and the hands that came together everyday at 6 am, lunchtime and 5:30 pm for prayer. May God watch over and protect those hands.
