GO GO GO ORANGE!!

Red means stop, green means go, but ORANGE means GO, GO, GO!!!

This is how the orange team kicked of 2008.  Bringing a fresh breeze as the first Orange team ever in the history of The Global Challenge, we are determined  to go into the world in a God-seeking life-style, sharing the Good News with the nations, going out to serve and love the people as followers of Chirst.

The members of the orange team are:

- Herman van der Merwe from Port Elizabeth (communications and first aid)

- Christine Vermooten from Pretoria ( food coordinator)

- Elzet Saunders from Vanderbijlpark (finance coordinator)

- Paul du Plessis from Fochville (travel coordinator)

- Marisa Fourie from Calitzdorp (team leader)

During the preperation week at Alabanza we were informed on all we need to know for this journey.  Other logistical arrangements were made and we praise god for the USA visas we received.  The most important preperation of this week, were the spiritual preperation.

Using the parable of a car going for a service before leaving on a long distance trip, we took our "car" in for a full service by God.

On Saturday during a parent weekend the teams had their first un-official  challenge for the year.  It caused us to get to know each other better and was great fun.  What brought even more excitement than this mini-challenge was the next morning church service in which one of the parents gave his life to Jesus.  This brought an even bigger expectancy of what God is going to do in and through us this year.   For there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).

This is what we as the orange team want to proclaim  to the nations.  It's our prayer that Gal.6:10 wil be part of our lives this year ("Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith).

Currently we are on a huge challenge.  We have to get to Zambia by Friday 25 January, while completing a few other tasks along the way.  There  we will receive more training at FCE before leaving for China in March.  Please keep us in your prayers as we travel through Africa.

We praise God for his faithfullness.  This morning he blessed us with almost R3000 in just an hour!!  We are thankful for everyone who were obedient in giving, from R1 to R1000.  May God bless each one of these people abundantly!

Blessings
