Fiji Island

Fiji

A lot happens in a months time. We are already on our way again after spending a bit over twenty days in Fiji. The first sence of the country could already be felt on arrival, this is one of the friendliest people groups I have met. This country is generally filled with friendliness. It is a bit of a laid back culture even modern music has been mixed to fit the island vibe as you drive on local busses.

We started off at a YWAM(youth with a mission) base near Labasa on the northern island. Here we were between young Fijians busy with a bible school. We helped out around the camp since there was a lot to do. The base was practically only a house, and there needs was from electricity work, general wood work and a bathroom and drainage systems.
A lot of the guys set aside stuff were generally busy with even if it was just for a few days to pray about desisions and to grow spiritually.
I've really enjoyed the time the team has set out to read the book Love Does together. Spending some time together on thougts about things in life.

I can just sit back and look at the way I used to think about certain things and how that has changed over the past year. It lets me think of the good tree bearing good fruit. I generally think that my source of input has changed a lot. My fruit has changed and my outlook. This is some thoughts that I have gathered from the year.

After spending a good time, more than a weeks at the base we went to Suvasuva. There we met a pastor. He is a really big fella, half Samoan guy. His name is Walter. We lived in a 'shack' right next to the house. They live three kilometers out of town, across the street from the beach on a beautiful peace of land.
I really did love his ministry and the way he is involved with people around him in the community. He has a beautiful wife and three kids. But during the day a lot of faces will be present. Grandparents, cousins and friends.
The church was held in their living room. Pretty basic.  I loved the messages they brought, and the fire they had during praising the Lord. I could feel they weren't just singing, but everything was meant from the inner core.
Since we lived close to the see, we had some nice time enjoying ocean live as we walked in the pools, and went snorkeling. My diet also suddenly had a lot of coconut in, but I won't complain about that!
I personally got some conformation on desisions I had to make for next year. So a lot fell into place, and as I sit here I can just say that I am truely blessed. And I donhave the feeling that something spiritually has been complete in me, it is just the beginning.
It is now of to Australia where we will spend some time at the bible school and back to some people we have met when we were there earlier.
