The time that we spent in China, was truly an amazing experience as well as an eye opener to me!
We spent three and a half weeks in China Mainland, after we visited the island of Macau for a few days.
On the 24th of March, we all departed to different towns, moving in our smaller teams. Our team, travelled to three different towns over a period of three weeks. The towns are situated in one of the north west provinces. We had a few encounters with people from different religion groups, which gave me an opportunity to understand a part of what their believes are. I was amazed to see how dedicated these people are in their daily rituals, even though they serve a non living god. This challenged me, as I reflected on my own dedications and time that I put aside for the Lord. The Buddhism and Muslim religion, is the most prominent in the area, and they have a few rituals and religious deeds which they follow on a daily basis. Not only are the people very serious about their spiritual life, but they also are hard workers. They always give their best in the smallest task they need to complete, and they seldom complain.
It touched me deeply to realize that these friendly people we came into contact with, and got to know better will not be saved in the end. We should not focus on how good people are, or how nice they are, but rather on the issue that should concern us all the most: Are these people who we love so dearly, and have so much to do with, going to heaven one day?
I can really say, that this past month for me, has been a great adventure in discovering a few different cultures that forms a part of this world.
We are currently in Malaysia, and I am not yet sure what God’s will is for me, although I am looking forward to what lies ahead.
Blessings
