When one has the privilege of visiting India, the one thing that everyone will notice is the extreme poverty that drenches this country. Last month, in India, we witnessed a lot of people in need of homes, food, parents and most of all in need for God in their lives!
Over 89 million orphans, of the 120 million orphans in the world, live in India. When we went out into the streets of Delhi, we were surrounded by hundreds of beggars that ran after us. These people hardly stay alive, and the only hope that they live for, is that they might be better off in their next life. They believe that they deserve where they are in life, and that they need to do good deeds in order to return as a better person, once they die.
This really challenged me a lot, in many different ways! I couldn’t understand, why God would let something like this happen to a child, who didn’t make the choice to be in this situation…Why does one child have a better chance in life than another. After all God made us all the same…? Now I can say that I understand the saying-“Life isn’t fair.” I got to see how unfair life could be at its worst.
I definitely realized how grateful I should be, and how much I actually have, but this wasn’t enough for me. I wanted to have some answers…I felt so guilty, having so much and not even giving the least I can offer people.
It is then I realized that God is the fair side of life! Everyone who accepts God as their personal savior, has hope for the future, and can without doubt say, that God makes life fair! Yes, your physical surroundings might not improve, in fact it can even go downhill, but God is so overwhelming that this “side” of life isn’t an issue anymore! In fact I should feel sorry for the people, who do not experience the fullness of God, and not only look at the people who are in need.
People tend to focus so much on the negative side of this life, which has no value at all, and not realizing how great God actually is! The great thing about living for God is, God is fair to everyone! Matthew 7:8:” For everyone who keeps asking will receive, and the person who keeps searching will find, and the person who keeps knocking will have the door opened.”
Once you have tasted God’s side of life, you will truly discover how vast it is, and that your earthly desires will be replaced by joy, being content with life on earth, and most of all, the love of God!
Personally, I can’t even compare the two “sides” of life. God makes up for any need of mine, and I know that He will provide until I will join Him for an eternity in heaven.
