Fishes and the Loaves (3Nations Adventurer)

What a wonderful God we serve!

I’ve had it on my heart for a very long time to do a mission trip with some teens. It was AMAZING!!! First of all, God really blessed us with a great leadership team. There were three of us (and we could each function in the area of our strengths), leading a team of 10 teens.

We saw many lives touched and miracles: The one eve we were showing the Jesus film and had decided to feed the people afterwords. But more people showed up than expected and some of the team guys even discussed not feeding the people, as we had only about two pots of food and only about thirty paper plates- I just said: “Well guys, the fishes and the loves, here we come!” We started by dishing up large amounts on the paper plates as there were not enough plates and three or four could eat off the same plate… Well, the plates kept coming and we kept dishing- and some of the young guys even came back for seconds and thirds, till they could eat no more! We must have fed over a hundred Guys that night! How great is our God!

But what was even more amazing for me, was being able to see the incredible growth that happened in the lives of the teens on team, and how they grew in the Lord. I must admit it was fun chucking them in the deep end every now and them and watching them swim:) and every time they came out on op and keen for another “swim”. Yes it was challenging at times- most of the time we were doing physically hard work like building stone walls- and living conditions were hard Example: No bathing for 5 days and then after that we each got a small dish of water to wash with- but all good fun. So the guys grew in character too:)

But what a privilege! The Lord was just so faithful in providing for us, even on our short Luke ten journey- not just in giving each one a word and showing us exactly where to go but also providing food and accomodation! I’m so excited to see what the Lord is still going to do in and through each of them. Go for it Guys!
