Mozambique/ Zanzibar Journey
The road to the island
The rest of the group, Adi and his wife Rohan, Dan, Cristyanne and Corneli safely arrived in Vila Ulongue on the 21st. The next morning our departure was delayed with a quick visit to the hospital. We had to test Adi and Ro for Malaria- it was luckily negative but it turned out that they had tick fever.
All in all the Malaria testing and the anti-
biotics cost us 12MTs- thats about R4.- For both of them!
That night we slept next to Lake Malawi and spent the next day there to prepare for our outreach to Zanzibar. From there we traveled to Mbeya in Tanzania where we slept the night and then took on the extremely long road across Tanzania to Dar Es Salaam.
We had a few unexpected stops along the way: one was to fill the thirsty Cruiser with Petrol form the Jerry cans. It caught us by surprise since the fuel guage was only halfway.
The next was an Elephant crossing the road while we were driving through the Mikumi National Park. That was great.
We arrived in Dar Es Salam around 8 last night, the 25th, after having to fight through extremely heavy traffic and against crazy bus drivers pushing themselves into small gaps.
The Landy is doing great so far and I'm proud of it. I also thank God that he healed it.
Today we are preparing for our ferry trip
tommorrow to the Island of Zanzibar, Can't wait.
Please pray for team unity as we dont all know each other that well and for tired drivers!
