We all know the commandment "Love one another" very well and have heard numerous sermons on exactly this topic and yet, when I am faced with a situation in the team where I am irritated or upset about something, the last thing I think about is to love my teammate.
I tend to put an "if" after the commandment, adding conditions to my love, although the commandment never states that love should be deserved, it only asks us to love, even when your love is not returned. I try to defend my stance with "But he did this and therefor I have the right not to love him, anyone can see that..."
What would have happened to me had Jesus taken this point of view? Would He have said I will only love you by dying for you if you prove yourself to me? His love is perfect and His grace much bigger than we deserve. I do not deserve His love, never mind His life, but He loves me nonetheless and therefor I can love my teammates.
So from now on I choose to love you!
