Just an update on a few things that happened during the rest of training. It's hard to tell you what stood out for me, because when I think about it, every teaching, conversation, situation and project had a certain impact on me during this time of training. I can't really admit that any one meant more or less for me than the other. Since my last newsletter we did the Veritas 1 Bible study coarse, we had many mind-altering teachings from different speakers, we had a ladies' (and men's) weekend where we discovered some radical truths and enjoyed the company of sisters, Paul and I got baptized, we went on our first Luke 10 journey and came back with awesome testimonies of revelations, provision and the power of prayer, we worked a little and LEARNED A LOT!
In my personal journey God has been teaching me about the difference of living under law and living under his grace. We have been breaking down lies I didn't even know I believed and carving amazing truths into my heart that brought healing and incomparable peace.
Obviously, this hasn't been the easiest of roads to follow, and many difficult choices needed to be made and kept to. But God showed me a very important truth through this: With obedience follows blessing. I am blessed in so many ways and receive things I never even asked for, just because God loves showing his children that he loves them!
It has also been great seeing some family, friends and mentors before our first flight out to the nations, but it also made me realize how much I have already changed and will continue changing and growing in the next 9 months. As I'm writing this, I'm sitting on the second of 3 flights to Cuba. Everything is so terribly exciting and i think the reality of our journey is still not completely fixed in my mind. Either way, I am ready to see God do some awesome things in South America.
I have posted a few photos of training on facebook, and so did Global Challenge Expedition's page. You are welcome to go look at my blog on the final feedback of our building project tasks as well as reading some fellow Global students' experiences of training on www.gcex.org
Thanks for all of the support through prayers! I know it is never in vain. I also ask that you will keep on praying for me, my journey group, the nation of Cuba as well as all of the other journey groups spreading the love of God throughout the world! If you want to know more specifics on what you can intercede for us, my dad will be glad to share a bit more detail on your reply.
