Local Challenge - D.F Malherbe

LOCAL CHALLENGE!!   In the first week of a new school term the D.F Malherbe High School in Port-Elizabeth had their Local Challenge! 16 Teams entered, started Thursday evening for a 61 Hour challenge!  Our main outreach was at the Fontein Primary school – for this outreach time we had to bake 1600 pancakes.
Friday morning started with the laying of coins on the D.F Malherbe octopus followed by the laying of pencils around the rugby field… all together more than R1000 and over 600 pencils where gathered.

At Fontein Primary School, we handed out pancakes and coldrink, a whole mini bus filled with clothes and toy’s where donated to the school. The children played together – having so much fun.

Saturday morning we spend at the Health Centre of Eastern Cape, gutting their grass.

Also having a Bible study at the beach – here we said to each other that God is challenging us to get out of the boat! We read through Matthew 14 and discussed it in our teams.

Saturday evening we never slept…. Spending the whole evening at the school – playing games, praise and worship, building shelters, and…

Listened to a friend visiting us from India – Sony Stevenson. She talked to us about persecution and showed us a presentation of the Immanuel Ministry in India, Kota. At 3:00  the morning we had Christmas!! Johannes spoke to us about the coming of Jesus and the gifts God blessed us with!

So many children where toughed through the phases of the Local Challenge, we praise God for His awesome wonder and the way our lives where changed by the challenges we faced. The testimonies of the children Saturday morning speaks about a faithful God
