ThIs heat got some beat...

So after cold and grey Russia we arrived in Cuba..stepping of the plane I was welcomed with the heat of the Caribbean and people talking, laughing and smiling. Driving out of the airport it felt like I went back in time. There is nothing modern in Cuba, everything is still the Same as in the 80's.  I was amazed to see how people just carried on living in that way. The music is everywhere and as you go you catch the one beat from the other one. There's people dancing in the streets in their houses in restaurants.

Spanish lesson 101 : where is the bathroom PLEASE (Donde esta el banjo porvavor) is the most important sentence you can learn.

I had such a blast meeting up with the Gladois team and spending time with them. They are such amazing people of God. They give so much of themselves and expect nothing in return. I made a wonderful new friends especially Maggie. We had so much fun climbing up the Grand Piedra, we even hitched hike up and down! Hahahaha I don't know who prayed more for a lift me or her...

We were blessed with amazing food everyday and had so much 1 pesO icecream luckily we walked almost 6 km per day 2 or 3 times..hint hint it didn't work... The 1 pesO icecream I carry now on my hips..lol..

From yaelin making really silly jokes and having a who can eat the most grand piedra icecream competition to sleeping in our hamocks on the roof of the church looking out over the Caribbean Sea then me buying a piece of land in the middle of the crossing road aka that means I fell down in the middle of the road with cherise and Jay walking on not hearing me scream and fall luckily Jojo came to the rescue after he stood and laughed at me for not being able to stand up, me and Jay pulling our faces really bad in situations we rather not speak of...sitting on the top of the church roof drinking coffee with cherise at night looking at the stars and having deep conversations about life and Jesus.. getting on the back of a motorcycle for a joy ride just for fun, being completely overwhelmed by the Holy Spirit... road tripping 13 hours on a old schoolbus/truck to get to Santeago and back to Havana, to getting baptised on the 22nd of Mei 2016 yaay and sleeping on the airport in a corner making sure there is a plug to charge our phones and boil the kettle in the morning for some cup of the coffee... laughing so hard that your tummy aches for 2 days..stepping deeper into Gods presense and His plan for my life!! what more do you want??

Sharing all of this with this team of mine just made it even more special. 5 months has past and I can say that this team is truly my family.

Thank you Jesus!
