New Zealand Impact

New Zealand Impact
Global Challenge Expeditions 2010; Work Your Way

Hi everyone

We even made it to New Zealand, and it was always my dream to visit  New Zealand and here I am, what a blessing. When we arrived in New Zealand the first thing that came to my mind is how far my home from me and it is was scary looking at the world map and you can’t believe that you are at the bottom of the world. New Zealand is one of the safest countries in the world, at the airport we spent almost 2 hours, browsing our bags, we were questioned, etc, but we eventually made friends with the border police and managed to share the lifestyle that we live as Christians.

I want to share with you one verse which had a lot off influence on me and the entire team, and I believe for you as well.

Romans 6:3-6
"3Or do you not know that as many of us were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized              into His death?  4Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, 6knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin."

In New Zealand we met brother Louey from South Africa who was a very good business-man, was a multimillionaire, but the Lord asked him to leave everything behind and to go to New Zealand and for the past 18 years he lives from Gods provision (Mark 10: 17-31). And while we were there, Louey always used to remind us to not live by the flesh and to ‘kill’ anything that your flesh wants, the way of talking, thinking, reactions, and actions, etc."

We have been travelling for the past 4 months going through different continents, countries, nations, cultures and in every country we had the same problem, and that is the pride that we as men have. The pride we need to die to, its words, its thinking, its reactions and its works, such as in Romans 6:3-6 to die on the cross with our pride and our wishes "knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin." Amen.

And it's a big process in all of our lives, and very difficult for a man but Philippians 4:13 says, "I can do all things in Him who strengthens me" In Christ Jesus we can do all, Amen.

I want to share a little bit about our mission in New Zealand and what was our focus for the past month.

-Impact on youth life-

Our arrival in NZ has been very questionable, but the Lord is always faithful and good and has opened doors for us in NZ. We were blessed with families who have provided accommodation and food for us and we in return helped them with anything they needed from physical labour to helping kids with homework etc. Our mission was with the youth from the local church with which we spent a month studying God's word, teaching them, and be taught by them. The title of my letter is Impact, because when we finished with our time in New Zealand I could see the great impact that the Holy Spirit has left in young people’s life of the church in New Zealand. Looking back at our first meeting with the youth, when we were all still confused, shy, weird ... And looking at 4 weeks after I can say for sure that I can see a new people, stronger in spirit, a better relationship with Christ, hungry and eager for Christ and surrender their lives to God’s will. Impact was so powerful, so visible in their lives, many were on the verge of their faith, confused with life but the Lord knows our hearts. When our time has come to go the youth came to us and said how much impact we had left on their lives, not just the teachings we gave, but also our lifestyle - God seeking lifestyle – and one of the greatest encouragements that I have heard is when we said goodbye and a girl from the youth told us - that she saw men of God in us. One of my wishes at the beginning of the year was that God would teach us and show us how to be men of God. Many were encouraged in faith, richer in knowledge, new visions for life, new life steps ... This was our impact in 20 young lives last month and praise to the God for using us as his instruments.

This was our impact that we had left in New Zealand, and the question that I have for all of you who read this e: mail is ‘What is the IMPACT that you have left in someone's life this month, this year, this decade and did you have impact in someone's life?’

When we left New Zealand, the youth gave us a big letter full of greetings and blessings. Here are some of the things they said

Rochelle & Dory ‘You have really inspired me to be a better person and having a relationship is with God better than anyone else or anyone else in the world.’

Lizzy – ‘Thank you so much, you guys have been a big inspiration to me and everyone, you boys are awesome team.’

n

Werner – ‘Teaching us new ways of worship and praise, you will be greatly missed by everyone.’

Este –‘You have planted seeds that have changed people's lives for eternity. Thank you for the beautiful example you have set for all of us, of the trust and love you have for the God we serve.’

Sean – ‘To all the Global Challenge guys’ thank you so much for coming to New Zealand and making a BIG difference among the youth in the church. I know that you've not only helped me, but also lots of others got closer to God and gave the strength to carry on being Christians and living it.’

It was not I, you, him or her but God almighty and all we were was instruments in the hands of God and the Holy Spirit that worked through us to create such an impact in young lives in New Zealand and may all the glory go to the Lord our Saviour.
And this was work your way in New Zealand
