This is what she had to say:
It is with great excitement that I share my experince of the first official gathering of the Mugg(Marcel) and Dougnut(Dauw) coffee experience. Since it is a privelage to be the first guest to be invited to such an esteemed gathering, I was greately honoured by the company of my host´s. Our rendezvous took place at a coffee cafe in Kusadasi.
Upon entering we were impressed by the homely atmosphere of classic decor along with an impressive display of cakes. But sadly the key element- the distinct aroma of freshly ground coffee beans-was missing!!
The menu was very inticing and received a deserving 5/5 for display, variety and visual presentation. The ambience was adequate, but seriously lacking in background music. The true test lay in the cappucinos we ordered. At first glance it appeared satisfactory, but upon closer inspection we were dissapointed by several crucial factors: the small size of the cup; the absence of any pattern on top; the foam was not thick and creamy-rather leaning to a bubbely consistency; the coffee had a surprisingly weak taste- no lasting depth of taste, leaning towards a watery palate. To top it off the service was efficient and quick, but quite unfriendly.
All in all, the taste panel was greatly dissapointed by the general impression of our coffee experience in Turkey. However, the good company more than compensated and the evening was according to me very enjoyable and indeed recomendable!
