Seeing that I haven’t posted as many blogs as I would have loved to, I thought I’d give you this praise report to give thanks for all your faithful prayers, to inspire you to keep praying, to tell you that our God is alive and faithful and to give all the honour and glory to Him.
On Saturday morning, the team and I drove into Auckland city to meet up with AJ and his crew. Our expectations were high, but nothing could prepare us for what was ahead.
We split into smaller groups for some prayer walking. As we walked the streets, praying for the city and the people of Auckland, we also went into the fan park for the Rugby World Cup and claimed it for the Kingdom. I believe that God has great plans for this time in New Zealand.
After the prayer walking, we met up again to praise His name. We sang and prayed and it was just such a blessed time.
Again we split into groups for the next activity which was the treasure hunt. I was especially excited for this part. Here we had to hear from God what He wants us to do and be obedient.
In the group that I was in, we had visions of an Indian man wearing a blue hat and a national bank sign. As we walked down the road, we saw the bank and right there, under the national bank sign, was an Indian guy with a blue cap handing out pizza flyers.
After some prayer for boldness and wisdom, we made our way over there and started chatting with him. It turned out that he was from Mumbai, had a Hindu background, but was a Christian. He was so amazed when we told him the story of how we came to him because just the previous night he prayed to God to show Himself to him. And there we were chatting away of how good God is. We prayed for him and he blessed us with pizza (thank you Jesus).
Back at our rendezvous, we shared with the group our
experiences. They also met a lady that they felt to encourage and pray for. She was manning a stall selling crystals and all kinds of cultic items and literature. The guys said that they could see that she was open for what they preached and left a booklet with her.
What a day, but wait, there is more…
Yesterday AJ phoned me to say that the Indian man came to his church and they shared with the church what happened. This man is now on fire again for God and was preaching to the congregation, something he was afraid to do prior to that point. AJ also said that the lady from the stall phoned him and told him that she gave her heart to the Lord. They will both be discipled and helped on their path with God and it was awesome to have a part in God’s great plan.
If this was not a miracle, then I don’t know what is. God still does miracles every day. He still speaks to us every day. The question then:
“Why don’t we hear His voice?”
Various options. We can’t hear His voice because we do not know what it sounds like. We are too busy to even think that God might be speaking to us. We do not even know that God speaks to people.
This report is to give praise to God for His faithfulness, but it is also a wake-up call for all of us calling ourselves Christians. We all have a purpose and a calling, but are we listening and are we obedient?
