Borneo village.

Our time in Tioman was a time of change. It was great to have De Necker with us and give teachings and helps us throw a couple of problems. He was such a blessing. The fresh outlook on things gave us a new hunger and courage to keep on doing what we are called for, although it is not always easy.

From Toiman we did our Luke 10 back to KL and then we flew to Borneo in Indonesia. My brother always said he wants to come here one day and I always wanted to join him.  Back then it wasn’t for serving to Lord, it was more for the adventure I knew we were going to have. I thought I was going to miss out on an adventure and just hang out at somebody’s house and help here and there.  God knows the desires of our hearts, because He is the one that put that desire there in the first place. We have been here for a couple of days and wow, what an adventure!

Hanno, Rueben and I went on a 7 hour motorbike trip into the forest with 125cc bikes. This was my first time riding a motorbike for more than 5min, so I loved it. We drove over wooden bridges and it is going to take me a while to complain about the South African road again. The potholes in the tar bridges are so deep that you can see the river under you.

The village was small and the church s about 100 people. They understand so much more about being a Christian then I do, I thought I was going to teach them, but it was not the case. They don’t go to church at all, they wouldn’t understand us if we say we are going to church, because they know that they are the church. They go to a fellow ship. They have fellow ship 5 times per week: 2 times in the building where the pastor preaches and 2 times just for prayer in small groups in their houses and 1 day of just worshiping. Jesus is their life. They sing with passion for God, they are just 100 people and a long for the day that the people where I come from sing like that.

One old man said we should come to his house and pray for him. He gave up on medicine and said that God is his only and last hope. Either God is going to heal him today or he is done for. We sat in his house waiting for him to come from his room.  Hanno got a word of knowledge that we should pray for somebody’s foot. Just as he got it a man walked in the house with a wound on his foot. We prayed for him and the pain was gone. We prayed for the old man and he got healed. He asked if somebody ells needs prayer and they said that they will call the one lady with a kidney problem. She could barely walk into the room, but God healed her, also her husband. God healed many people that day. The last house we prayed for the one man’s father so that their relationship can be restored. Then a man walked in the room.  He was deaf in one ear and had almost no hearing in his other. We prayed for him and when I clicked my finger next to his ear he heard it. It wasn’t completely healed yet, so we kept on praying. The children put their hand on his ears and also prayed. We tested his hearing after prayers. At the end I stood outside the room just say “JESUS” he would hear me. We invited everybody to the fellowship that night and they all said they will see if they can make it. At the end the Pastor asked who would like to commit his life to Jesus. The 5 men that we prayed for was in the group of +-20 people that stood up. The one man was that father that had a bad relationship with his son.

The next night we went to a fellowship in a town. This was in somebody’s house. We did a drama and shared a bit. Then after everything God healed more people. The one woman said she felt something cold leaving her body. The last person had cancer, there was no evidence that she got healed other that God’s word. But God is bigger that cancer so we know what her next test is going to say.

God is good and He will always be!

PS: It is so funny when kids start to cry and dogs run away when they see that we are white.
