So the first few days we just rested there, especially after India and also to get over the jetlag. We also debriefed India!
We were sent out on a Luke 10 journey. Just like Jesus sent out his dissiples, we were sent out by our leaders. They only gave us $2 per person, per day. Well if you read Luke 10, they went out with nothing, only the clothes on their backs, so we did the same. We only took with us our raincoats and our Bible. We left the money and just started walking.
We walked and hitch hiked and a lady pulls overs to pick us up. She were on her way home, so se dropped us infornt of her house. As we walked on we just prayed for her.
We again started hitch hiking. We didn't even walk far till this van pulls over and a guy picked us up. He said he will drop us at the mall. As we drive we talked to each other and getting to know each other and found out he is a painter. We were talking and I realized he just passed the mall. I thought maybe there is another mall we just don't know about.
Then all off a sudden he said, he just decided to take the day off and wants to show us the island. So yes, he drove us around the island for the whole day. We also told him what we are doing, and that we don't have any money with us. He took us to a few places and we would get out to take some pictures and walk on the beaches and just had fun.
Well my camera broke on Christmas day, so between the 3 of us we only have one camera, Marna's. She just told us earlyer that het memory card is almost full and she only has like 4 pictuers left. (He overheard that). So we stopped at this one town, it was such a cute town and is also quite small. Here he offered to buy us all some shaved ice, and boy was that good. I have never tasted something like that! We saw that as our lunch, because we were so full after that.
Then he took us down the road, to one of his friends he wanted us to meet. O and was that so much fun. He and his family (the 10 kids) are very artistic. They make music and all of them are in the band. They are so talented and can play about all the instuments there. We got to know here that Tom (the guy that picked us up) is also very talented and worked at a recording studio a few years back. Tom bought each of us a t-shirt t his friends place. I really like the shirt!!
We stayed there for about 2 to 3 hours. Then he just drove us around more for the rest of the day. At Sandy beach we just wanted to go on the baech and feel the water. When we came back to us he asked if we had any plans for dinner. (Well we had no money so that was easy to answer). Yes, he invited us for a home cooked meal, at his house.
At his house we met his mother and she is so sweet. She cooked us the best food I had since this trip. It was macoroni and chees, vegatables, meat and a salad. They also spoiled us with dessert - ice cream and cookies- and coffee! After dinner there and some chatting he took us back to the place we stayed the night.
Throught this I really just realized that God is good and that God definately provides for his children. We just have to trust in hHim fully and he will provide and it is a really exciting lifestyle.
The next day of our Luke 10 journey we just walked around in Hawaii and prayed for everything we felt like. That was also nice and the Lord again provided for us. Some ladies we met previously came to the camp site and gave us dinner - spagetti and meatballs.
These ladies also did so much for us. They took us to church, drove us to stores, gave us food, did our laundry and took us to the airport. They really went out of their way to help us and I appriciate everything they did for us. The blessed us each day with something new.
Through that I learned that it takes nothiong from us to give to other in need. I will definately do that for people when I am back at home. I praye that the Lord will bless them and everybody that blessed us in some way or the other.
