India was a learning experience

Wow.... India was interesting. If I can do it again I would do it all over.

Although India was hard, I learned the most there. From the first day we arrived at the orphanage I knew it was going to be a challenge, but I was so excited being with the kids and about what we are going to do there.

We started off by doing some physical word during the mornings (while the kids had school), and in the afternoons we would just play with the, give them love and attention and just have fun! We would usually play like one game for two hours and that learned me just to be patient, I mean one game like duck, duck goose (vrot eiertjie) can become very lon after one hour.

We also had a drama that we taught them during some afternoons. Every group would have different parts they needed to learn and present. It was so much fun, because they were so excited about it. My group learned to sing Silent Night& nbsp;and to do it in sign language. They were very happy about being little angels.

I learned a lot from the kids, especially living with them for two weeks. They just want to give and share everything they have, and they have so little to give. Sometimes in our daily lives we are so self centered and don´t really share what we have. We actually have a lot more to give than they do.

They would get up every morning at 6 and have prayer time for half an hour. After that they would start to fetch water for the day. When I tried to help them a few times, they would refuse. They didn´t want to accept my help. That was so sad to see how hard these little kids worked. And then it would be so cold during the the mornings, because they do it 7 and it is winter there. I would help to warm their hands, just because I couldn´t carry the water for them.

The kids are also so dedicated to the prayer time they have. They have it 3 times a day, the mornings at 6, then before lunch, and then 6 at night again. We aren´t that dedicated in our daily lives, we are so rushed. We really need to make more time for the Lord. The days I didn´t make time for the Lord I could feel it. That days I would struggle and get irritated a lot. I would also get very tired sooner and quicker.

From Samuel Thomas and also Tertia I learned about surrendering your live to God. Since they did it, the Lorf just provided for them. Surrendering your life means that you trust Him fully and that thought is something the human mind can´t fully comprend. It it also a proces and can´t be done overnight. I believe that I am in that proces at the moment. The proces is also very hard, but the Lord is helping me with it a lot.

I pray that people would get in the proces to surrender there lives and just to trust the Lord with everything He gives us.
