I think it's important to remember that God didn't create religion. People did. It's funny, we run around placing little labels on all sorts of spiritual things and calling it OUR RELIGION.
Isn't that just what we do with people as well? See we meet people. We kinda talk to them for a while, "get to know them" without getting to know them and then we slap a sticker all over what we "know" about them and we file them in a box with a lot of other stuff with the same stupid label.
Our own little factory if you may. But what I have come to realize is that we don't know anything at all. We think we do, and that just makes us so smart doesn't it? But what we fail to understand is life. Personalities, realities and emotions.
See we grow up in a world that sugarcoats everything. We learn to sugarcoat situations, realities, emotions, people and even God.
We indirectly label God. We think that we can just place God in a box. Or at least that's what I thought.
I had all these little boxes inside one big box. And in big red letters it was labeled GOD. No. Maybe it was labeled RELIGION.
What I have learnt is; God isn't bound by religion. God can not be labeled. God can not be sugarcoated.
GOD IS. The GREAT I AM. The CREATOR of the universe. LOVER OF MY SOUL. RIGHTEOUS JUDGE. GRACEFUL. MERCIFUL. BEAUTIFUL. UNLABELED.
It makes me think of the lyrics of ABBA from Jonathan David & Melissa Helser, "You're my reality." Is God really my reality? Or do I just live my life the way I used to and still God just comes along in my little box of religion only to be opened when it's appropriate.
God can not be contained!! God shouldn't be made small to suit our little brains. God should be our reality.
