We often hear and use these words: "The world is a small place." But just how small is it? Small enough for all of us to understand the same language? Definitely. Even though you may need the help of Google here and there!
I had the most amazing experience during a bible study gathering. We were seven Afrikaans girls and four Spanish guys. We had a bible study theme to work through and to discuss. One problem: they don't speak much English and we don't speak much Spanish.
After a few minutes of trying to translate and to understand what they mean, I managed to catch two words. Faith and pride. But what about faith and what about pride? Finally our help came, the solution to our translating and understanding problems...the laptop and Google! The group leader typed the message in Spanish and trough the wonder of Internet we managed to read the translated version in English.
God showed me that language can be a barrier, but that we shouldn't be scared and give up when there's a challenge. Sure, it's going to be more difficult and you probably would have to go to a lot of trouble, but no challenge should ever leave you defeated. With God is everything is possible. No challenge is too big or too small for Him.
God reminded me of the following scripture in Revelation 15:4
"Who will not fear you, O Lord,
and bring glory to your name?
For you alone are holy.
All nations will come
and worship before you,
for your righteous acts have been revealed."
He showed me that no matter where you live, what language you speak or who you are, He loves you. He is an almighty and omnipresent God and that all nations will bow before Him and all nations will worship Him. He will be worshipped in every country and in every language. We are one body in Christ. It doesn't matter if we can't even understand each other. The only thing that matters is that we all have Christ in us.
With Spanish, English and Afrikaans love
