Our time in Guatemala is over now and it was just too short for us. We wanted to spend much more time there with the people and getting teachings from Pastor B. Our highlights were definitely the amazing revelations we got from Pastor B’s teachings, we also helped an organization called “Mayan families” with installing fire stoves for the local people.
The whole trip started with the fun chicken busses that really will get your heart pumping of the way the “wane be nascar race drivers” is driving and taking there corners with a huge old bus that can actually brake down any time or tip over, and then they over load it also. It was lots of fun and an experience but the busses were actually nothing in compare with how Pastor B drove.
We arrived in Panajachel (Pana) late the night of the 14th March and got to meet Pastor B riding on his bike down the streets and talking to the people of this hippy town where there is so many lost people coming for a brake or searching for something more to fill up the gap inside.
We also joined up with Maarten, a South African that God has send to Pana for a short term. Maarten has a huge hart for God and the miracles that God does, he literally doesn’t walk past a sick person or a beggar without praying for him/her. He really prays for every single one of them. So we also had opportunities to go out some days and do street ministry after Pastor B gave us some teachings. We prayed for a view people and we saw a view people get healed as well.
Pastor B gave us teachings on demonology, baptism, the “end times”, ext. He also took us to the witch’s cave where he evangelizes the witches that comes there for offerings.
God blessed our team with the opportunity to clime the Pacaya volcano, one of four active volcanos in Guatemala. We had a marshmallow braai on top of the volcano.God also blessed us with allot of food from the local people that we had met there.
ll of this and a lot more things happened in our time in Pana, too much to mention in one letter but the most imported was that I started to see how God was birthing a hunger for miracles in the team and that the team started to evangelize and pray for random people. And during that time God also putted us into the baptism of fire.
After Panajachel the team had a challenge to Mexico Cancun and on my way there I had to stop over at San Christobal for the next bus. My departure time was 15:15. During the time waiting for the bus I sat in a hotel working on the internet. When my watch was on 14:15, I started to get ready for my half hour walk to the bus station, I realized that Mexico was actually an hour later then Guatemala and that the real time was 15:15 and that my bus is leaving at the moment. So I grabbed my bags and ran to the bus station to a sort of a lost case. On my way there I prayed and asked God to help me so that it won’t be necessary to pay another ticket because I don’t have any more money. I got to the bus station 15:45, a half an hour to late. But I saw a bus standing in front of the station and I went and showed them my ticket. It was my bus and they were waiting for me, I gave my bags in and climbed on the bus and of we went to Cancun where we flew out to Canada where we are now and very excited to see what’s next for the team on our walk with God.
O yea, and Cancun Caribbean beach was awesome!
