I don’t believe in sin
I went to preach the gospel again the other day in a Muslim mosque in mississauga Canada. After discussing the whole God story, I came to a point where I just couldn’t get a break through with the people in the mosque, the topic was sin. They didn’t believe that Adam committed sin or any other Muslim prophet for example Moses, David, Samuel, ext. They believe that Adam made an “unintentional mistake” and that God forgave Adam after he asked God for forgiveness and that there was no consequences because if you forgive, you forgive and forget. I asked him then why God banned Adam en Eve out of paradise then and he replied that it was bound to happen because it was man’s destiny to go to earth so that God can see who is truly submitted to Him and when you sin on earth you can only ask God for forgiveness and He will forgive you and that& rsquo;s it.
After a long discussion and debating I came to the conclusion that the whole problem lies in the clear understanding of what sin really is and how God sees it.
I had the same experience but just in a little bit of a different way with some new made friends that picked us up while we were hitch hiking to the north of Canada.
A young lady in her mid-twenties picked us up and gave us a lift to the next town and after hearing our story she asked us if we wanted to go to her grandmother’s house in Blind River where we also met her grandfather and brother.
These people is maybe the friendliest people I have ever met in my life, they did everything in their power to give us a real Canadian experience and they opened there hearts and home for us while doing so. During our time with them I opened up a discussion about God.
She believes in the “new age” and that there is a higher power and energy that you can call God if you want to and that all of us are
part of this energy. And then again the topic of sin came up.
She doesn’t believe in sin because she says that it implies that we make mistakes and that we need to feel guilty about that. She believes that we cannot make mistakes because everything happens for a reason and everyone has a destiny to for fill.
Again I came to the conclusion of the person not having a clear understanding of sin. You see if you don’t understand what sin is you will not understand what Jesus did for you on the cross. If you don’t believe in sin then in your mind there is no need for a saviour, if there is no need for a saviour then everything about Jesus Christ will only sound like some kind of a crazy religion.
You even see it in the church, people will sit in there believing that there is nothing wrong with their lifestyles.
You cannot understand the love that God has shown to us if you don’t understand two things, sin and holiness, (Next time I will talk more about holiness)

The problem is that some people don’t want to believe in sin because then they have to admit that they are guilty of allot of bad things. And that can be very heart-breaking for some people. But that is the beauty of it all, the moment you realize that you are guilty of a lot of bad things you did, in that same moment you realize that you need a saviour, one that can save you from all of that guilt and condemnation. And that saviour is Jesus Christ. He already forgave us and saved us 2000 years ago. We only need to believe that.
Let me put it in a daily life example. (I am very sorry if I hurt anyone for what I am about to say, but if you can understand this you can have true liberty)
A young unmarried woman gets pregnant and she gets an abortion. Afterwards she starts to feel allot of guilt of what she had done, it brakes her heart just thinking of how her baby would have looked like now.
Her way of coping with it is to start believing in her heart that sin doesn’t exist
because then she doesn’t need to feel the guilt and pain that she has.
Again Jesus is standing right in front of her, just waiting for her to admit it and to ask for forgiveness and to except His great love for her. He already forgave her a long time ago. She just has to realize and except it. Through Jesus Christ she will be saved and she will have true liberty and she will be able to love herself.
I do believe in sin, I know that I am a sin full man.
I know I need a saviour.
Rom 7:24-25 “What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God-through Jesus Christ our Lord!”
Ps. I don’t see myself to be at a place of having a complete understanding of what sin and holiness is but merely as someone who is in a continues proses of discovering and understanding through revelations from the holy spirit what it truly means.
