Russia is a beautiful place, especially in the countryside, people still live very simple (due to poverty), each one has their own small garden for vegetables and a cow or two for milk (and every cow has a name, no more than 2 cows) milked every night and a long drop toilets and wood houses and horse carts etc. It's beautiful.
They bath every three days in a sonna type of thing called a Banja
The sun sets only 11 o'clock in the evening in Russia and then come back five o'clock in the morning, it is effectively only 4 hours dark in the night.
One thing was very obvious to us that day when we came in to the small town of about 400 people ... I saw no men.
"Oh they are certainly in the field with the cattle" I thought to myself.
The next day I went for a early morning walk
through the village. along the path I saw 4 or 5 men taking the cattle out, and that's it.
In the afternoon every one who helped came together for a meeting in a very small church as big as a bedroom.
It was us 7 from Global Challenge, an Australian missionary, his right hand who is the interpreter, both from Krasnoyarsk, an old lady and her daughter Krasnoyarsk (with a interesting background of how she met God in jail after she killed her husband with a knife, or knife tickled as she calls it, now she's full of life and joy of God and praise Him all the time), four young girls from Krasnoyarsk (who always comes with to play with the children ), the man and his wife at the church and only three local old ladies.
Again, almost no men, then it came out.
Almost all the men are addicted to alcohol and some wives and even teens, every two weeks a man will die of drinking. Most of the
women are widow's, there are almost no men left to help cut the grass for the winter.
Because of the unemployment, the men just sit and drink Vodka.
In the afternoon when the children came to play with us, because the news had spread through the village, one could clearly see that the children don't have allot and the situation in the homes is not good, some are deformed from alcohol during pregnancy, some have blue eyes as daddy hit them, everyone always say it's bee stings.
Immediately God told me that the children doesn't know the Father heart of God and I knew that I as a man must be a example to the children how to be a man of God, because their frame of men and father is very bad.
Through the week we prayed al lot, and every day we focused on a characteristic of God with the children and the adults.
During our time there we had a very bad experience one afternoon just after the
children come and play with us and returned home.
There was a little girl of 6 years old with beautiful brown curly hair.
Just after she left us a man picked her up and took her into the forest and molested her.
Please pray for the people, they are all beautiful people.
All these people say they are Christians but their lives do not radiate from the fruit, not allot of them have a personal relationship with God, so many of them go to church and do the right things, but they don't know God, they do not know how to work with him, to walk with Him in everything you do, ask him for whatever you need.
In the this time, I also remembered the time when I was addicted to alcohol and drugs. I thank God that He saved me from that terrible bondage that the enemy uses to destroy our lives.
There is also a second thing I noticed here in Russia, especially in the cities.
I am not going to lie, the girls here are extremely beautiful, they make it very difficult for a man to keep his eyes on the ground. They also weare clothes with no shame at all. It's just high heels with short dresses and pants.
We have made the consumption that because the few men, the competition is very high for the women and now it's just a big "cat fight" in the streets.
The people's moral standards are very low
