From the first day we arrived in the Philippines with all it's promised beauty and extraordinary adventures.. We hit the ground running from sleeping in a very small airport to taking a 36 hour ferry in a room with more than 500 beds amd not even mentioning the heat this country has to offer.
We arrived at the first venue for the parents visit with excitement and even a few nerves. What a great time this was spending time with friends and family and getting to know our fellow travellers even more, with snorkeling, scuba diving amd jumping of 10m cliffs and eating at restaurants that is not in global budget!! With all the excitement you forget to rest and before you know it, time's up and you say goodbye to those you won't see for the next 4 or 5 months.
And just like that.. Snap, back to reality on our way to our host where for the next week or two we broke rocks with pipes, did house visits and doing plays amd feeding children all through some bad communication and sorting out team and emotions so we can get back to what matters and the reason we're all here. Getting infections and bugs everyday someone out because well we are exhausted and on a very low budget. But we made it, i guess if you just keep going you'll make it in the end.
Overall Philippines was a tough country for me and all i can do is draw meaning from my experience, i guess thats the essence of life... To get meaning from it and not just go with the flow
And yes Jesus is our hope, but we can't simplify our answers to hard questions to just that, i think Jesus wants us to learn and figure things out with Him thats how we build a relationship with God.
