A cold night sleeping on the airport, He is there! Midnight running through mud in Kenya, a bucket shower for two to share, Selenge the eland is around somewhere but He is everywhere. Important to remember, but so easy to forget our Father is good and He always remains fair.
I used to think that the only way to learn is when a teacher is standing in front of a blackboard, but now I know that Jesus is the best teacher and He teaches through events and experiences.
I went to Africa thinking I'll be changing the world, little did I know I'll be the one coming back changed. Africa you are beautiful, absolutely magnificent. You taught me how to truly live and to live simply. You reaveled your people to me and showed me God's Father heart through them.
Kenya, you took away my worldly luxuries but you shared yours with me. You showed me the beauty in an early morning sunrise, the wonder of millions of stars shining so brightly it cast away the fear of night. You made me walk through valleys to meet your people and took my breath away in the process.
Uganda, you gave me a home and made me part of a family. In a foreign country filled with unknown people you made me a friend and part of your own. Thanks to your loving hospitality I could be a friend to the widow, the refugee and you loved the foreigner residing amongst you. Deuteronomy 10:18
Rwanda, what an inspiration not only to me but to many. What a great example for the rest of the world to follow. You revealed to me how completely broken and shattered you were. With human strength alone it would not have been possible for you to heal like you did. God's hand is over you and your people. You broke the chain of division and you people now live as one.

The lessons you taught me I will treasure, the faces you showed me I will remember. I now realised that I needed you more than you needed me. You have become a part of me and left me changed forever!
