the unknown road

Sitting on a night at the final end of a training period for new students of Global Challenge Expeditions, I find myself excited for them and their year. The adventures to be had, the people to be met, the views to be seen and the roads to be walked/jumped/ran on or where they would just stand - to take it all in.

Little more than 4 years ago, I was the new pilgrim embarking on the fresh path of the unknown, with the only constant assurance being that that which lies ahead was already planned by a Higher hand. Unbeknownst to me at that time was the fact that me and my friends’ travels would bring change where we go, probably in a realm unseen to the physical eye. Nevertheless the effect of brotherhood, friendship, fellowship and beholding the One who sent us, can not but bring a shift where these things woven together, are uncommon.

My trust and unwavering hope that I have for them is that they will see and experience what I have and even more. I can not but want the more for them, that they themselves would not only walk in freedom from the world but that they would also be changed to be unwavering against its tide in the coming times. That it would not just be a ‘once off’ for them but that what would be done in them would be for the world around them as much as it is for them.

Are they ready for it? More than they know. For the change I have witnessed in a mere two months have been exceedingly great and I can not otherwise but foresee still many a great thing along the unknown every day.

May the desires given to them be fulfilled albeit maybe not in this year but also in a time to come. For with the Lord on the same road as them I can not but have a sense of knowing that significance is ahead.
