Journeying in Colombia

In Colombia, we dug trenches!

our digging handy work

We dug quite far and wide, but I really loved it. Hanging out with the blue team, moving pipes about and playing in the mud like we were small children again. But while working and being in "semi lock down" at the camp there was plenty of time to spend with God and also reflect abit on my journey so far. God has really been journeying with me and I want to share a part of what he has been doing in my life.

For so long I have always been the quiet one, in school the teachers would constantly say I had so much to offer but should speak up more. Sharing what I had to say was hard, but I ddidnt know why. Thinking that this was just who I am and how can you change your personality. But near the end of training this year I realised this quietness and fear was because of lies that I had been believing since I was very little- that I didnt have anything worth while to say or that people wouldnt want to hear it. Jesus Christ came and revealed his lie and with that he brought truth into my life that has set me free. As well as allowing me to see the impact that has had on my life and the power to turn from that and walk in the truth. It has not been easy to step out of leaning on the fact that I have always been the "quiet one" and is still something that will challenge me. But every tme I can stand on that truth and step out of my comfort zone there is more and more freedom in that! Take heart in knowing that being free and alive in Him is exactly where Jesus wants you to be, and he will use any way he knows to make that happen.

In my anguish I cried to the LORD, and he answered me by setting me free. (Psalm 118:5)

I am so excited to continue walking on this journey, to be faithful in Gods truth. That others can come to experience his freedom as well! Now we are getting stuck in, in Peru. With plenty of opportunities to share the gospel and testimonies of what God has done in our lives. You can be praying that our team will walk with courage and boldness, being willing take every opportunity that comes our way.

Thanks for all you support.  Hope all is going well for you!

Blessings,

Helen
