During our last few days in India

Well what can I say…

India is a very beautiful place depending which set of sunglasses you use.

The country side where we are spending the last few days is very beautiful with the Himalayas in the back ground. They don’t seem to be covered with snow since the weather does not really justify snow in a 35 degree region. It however is still very cool compared to the 48+ degrees we had in Kota in the middle of India. This is where we did our main ministry in India and where we worked at the orphanage. We were slaves to the temperature and had to work whenever it was not super hot or not dark.

We enjoyed most of the stay since more than half of the team experienced at some stage some sort of sickness. We praise the Lord that he kept his hand over us and provided the correct people at the correct time to look out for our wellbeing. I want to give special thanks to all the people from the short term project people and the visitors Auntie Tersia en Uncle Deon. You were great not just as a medical team but as great listeners when we needed it most.

The orphanage otherwise was great we played a lot of cricket and had lots of time in the afternoon when the weather was cooler to spend time with the kids not just playing but also being a ear to listen to or someone to pray with. I personally want to thank SonAbraham for the great arm massage he gave me even though I know he will probably never read this blog. The faith level of some of those kids leaves us to shame. Some on the other hand leave us to shame on the cricket field.

The food was great for most of us. The spices were too much for me and therefore had to mainly live of rice and jupaties but there was never a shortage of food. The kids food pots was also a spectacular not for what is always in them but for the size and the effort to prepare the food.

The painting of the complex was a great effort and we manage to finally finish after some difficulties that we had to make some complex solutions.

We also were assigned a room and it was great to spend more time one on one with some of the kids. I learned a lot from them and so did they.

We finally had to say good buy and the time and emotions to so long that we almost missed our train to the next destination. We visited the Taj Mahal which was a spectacular sight to see but personally I prefer the “Voortrekker monument”.

As I said we are in the mountains (Himalayas) at the moment and in a few days we will be visiting London and some of us can not wait to get there.

ooooo I almost missed it there is a ton of false gods here and they can be seen everywhere.

Well I need to get going since food in served in a few minutes but I will blog a bit more in London.
