Here is a thought......God is a person who takes immense risks. No doubt the biggest risk He took was when He gave angels and men free will, INCLUDING the freedom to reject Him not just once, but every single day. Auuch. He In some way most of us do everything we can to reduce the element of risk in our lives. I mean look at this, God needs to get the message out to the human race, without which they will perish....forever. So what's the plan???? First he starts with the most unlikely group ever, a couple of prostitutes, a few fishermen with no better than a second grade eduction, a tax collector....Then he pases the ball to us!! There is something much more risky going on here than we're often willing to admit. Its like going into a war with few men that never fought a battle in their lives against trained soldier man that can kill you in an instant. But God is wise and sometimes in our eyes He seems to do some crazy, risky, impossible things but thats one of the ways He works. He can use anyone He choses to use, any race, any height any strength but he still chooses to use YOU, maybe a broken cup that has cracks all over it. Maybe you feel you aint worth it, you aint good enough, that you aren't ready to fight, to lead but God knows your heart and He knows what you are capable of, after all He is the one who created you. So go on make a step of faith, yes it is hard sometimes but you will only become stronger out of it. Sometimes I like to say that FAITH is spelled R-I-S-K, cause in human eyes its just like that, to see a follower of Jesus Christ do things that are absurd and impossible and RISKY but I know that when something seems impossible or risky God loves that 'cause He just likes proving it otherwise. God seems to fly in the face of all caution. Even though he knew what would happen, what heartbreak and suffering and devastation would follow upon our disobedience, God chose to have children. And unlike some hyper-controlling parents, who take away every element of choice they can from their children, God gave us a remarkable choice. He did not make Adam and Eve obey him. He took a risk. A staggering risk, with staggering consequences. He let others into his story, and he lets their choices shape it profoundly.
This is something I've realized while reading the book called Wild at heart by John Eldredge i recommend it to all especially to men that are in search of their own heart. A journey within a journey.
