"Wake up from your slumber, baby open up your eyes! " challenge time
So rise and shine prayer time before a hard days work... Or do we get suprised with that little white paper listed with crazy ways to explore Panajachel and the Mayan ways?
Tiptop... ready purple team? With +1 (new team member) and -1 knee the sports begin!
So the journey started with a picture of our own home flag as well as playing around in Tuck-tuck street with camera actions.
Treading the colorful streets of PANA we saught relationships with foreigners, met some awesome people and shared in real interesting conversations with Jehova's witnesses as well as Israelites with Budism ideas. In all this we truely recognized God's
heart for a lost people seeing them through Jesus' eyes as redeemed and free. God is ever faithful!
We grabbed a Sarita icecream on the way to the coffee shop to kick two tasks under the butt, in the hurry dropped the icecream and ended up eating it off the floor like 3 crazy Global Challengers in Challenge mode for all points possible.. Ohhh what you would do for that prize "cake" when the winners are announced.
We chilled for a few minutes at a beautiful little coffeeshop getting to know our new team and strategizing for the first time ever! Above it all having loads of fun and laughter and REALLY GOOD GUATEMALAN COFFEE! We met a cool lady who helped us with most of the do's and don'ts, showing us around and gifting us with a MAP.... Oohhhh how we love maps! On the way we learnt a song in Ketchical (excuse the spelling) and sojourned further to find our 3 Pedro's to share the gospel with.
After a time searching for Pedro's, only finding one construction worker and the rest of his team cheering him on as we take pictures with him, God took us a little deeper. So we got the crazy revelation that Pedro means rock.... Hahaha yeah you can only agine!
We ended up picking 3 rocks from the road, cleaning them, explaing to them the gospel of peace and sharing scripture with them. Their response was not as cheerful as we expected, but we trust God to turn their hearts of stone into hearts of flesh. We also prophesied over them to not be stumble stones for people and that they will be used as solid foundations and also discovered the Corner Stone of our salvation. We did our best, so God, we're trusting you for the rest!
Off to the butterfly farm we raced in two Tuck-tucks.. Having Charne' and Jana in nr.69 and Henk in nr. 161. We drifted through some potholes and overtook eachother a few times having the girls in the lead and the gentleman right behind us. As we reached a uphill, like usually in worldly terms, the girls's weight became a disadvantage, so Muchaco took us on the last stretch.
We made our way further to Solola, catching 3 chicken busses there and back, acting as complete foreigners, building human statues and baring Jesus' name in joy!
So after a full day... Soaked, cold and hungry purple team ends off their challenge with a game of cup soccer in the streets with kiddies and heading Santa Catarina way back home.
Thank you, Lord for such an amazing day filled with awe and wonder of your beautiful heart for your creation! We glorify You!
