First 5 weeks of training - South Africa

"Here are my servants, whom I uphold, my chosen ones in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on them and they will bring justice to the nations." - Isaiah 42:1 (plural added)

The Lord has been preparing his servants in powerful ways these last five weeks. Listening to teachings, practically serving at the primary school, creating projects and working in our teams have brought all of us closer to the heart of Jesus as we are being empowered to bring the good news of salvation with healed hearts and in power and love to the nations.

The focus of our teaching so far has been Theophostic Prayer Ministry, which is a counselling tool for freeing people from lies that they believe about themselves, causing them not to live a fulfilled life. Secondly we focused on evangelism. Floyd McClung taught us how to share our own story (testimony) and God's story (the Gospel) in less than 3 minutes. Lastly we learned about the Kingdom of God, and also discussed the three topics that drive most people - money, sex and power.

News from the primary school in Ithemba: All the prayers, support and hard work have paid off! The school now boasts with clean, working toilets, newly painted roofs, walls and classrooms and a clean playground. There is also a new jungle gym for the little kids, the storeroom has been sorted out, and the kids have made many new friends with our team! The last day the goodbyes were hard as the school invited us to their assembly. The choir sang some songs to thank us, the girls danced for us, and the teachers and kids promised to look after the facilities, thanking God and us for what has been done. Our small group got a chance to share the gospel with all the Grade 6s, and we had a lot of fun singing songs and playing games with them.

A few weeks ago we went to blikskud in Port Elizabeth, that is to dress up and stand at the traffic lights, asking for donations or small change to raise support. The money will be used to support some of our team members who are struggling with their finances. We raised R21 000 in one day! All the glory to God, our Provider!!!!

What lies ahead: We will be in Alabanza, Pretoria for the next week where we will focus on teachings about the Holy Spirit, as well as summarizing the Bible in ten teachings of an hour each. The 22nd of February we will be speaking at different churches. I will be at NG Moreletapark's youth service. The 24th of February we will all fly together to Cairo, Egypt where our first ministry point is.
