The beauty of Thailand and the presence of God

Thailand has captured my heart with the breathtaking beauty of its nature, and the kindness of its people. The laughter of kids resound in my ears as I am working here in the garden of the community centre, pulling out weeds and the odd worm. The sun shines in full splendour, and one of the little kids run to me with a huge grin and a glass of ice-cold water. The Lord whispers to me, "Be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." (Psalm 45:10). His presence is so sweet, yet I am filled with sadness as I know that many of the people in this nation have never felt the love and freedom that the presence of God through Jesus Christ brings. It is my prayer that many more of these precious people will get to know Him...

Each morning we start our day with the kind hospitality of Pastor Wassan as we enjoy Milo and toast before work. Pastor Wassan leads a small church in Ban Pruteaw, Thailand, and is one of the kindest people I've ever met. His smile rarely fades, and he never stops shining the light of Jesus to those that he meets.

Our team has been helping out with some of his projects in the community. Most lately I've spend time gardening at the community centre, and painting at a pre-school that we just finished building together with some local builders. But the weekends are the best! On Saturday mornings we have a kids program, and on Sundays we have kids church during the regular service.

No words can describe how precious these little Thai children are, so I'll share a few photos of them:

May you too be filled with the captivating presence of God and the fellowship of Jesus, and may both I and you  live a life that shines out a love that is unfailing and a hope that is unchanging.

Love from Thailand

Liesl
