The day my life changed…

Life doesn’t start the day you only give your life to Christ, I mean I did that many years ago, but still I wasn’t walking in victory.  How is this possible, do you ask?  Come with me and I’ll tell you…

So Peru took me through this whole process of repentance, learning what it is and applying it to my life, which means making a 180 degree turn from who you were.  Great, so what now?  There should be more.  Then I read Acts 2:38 (among many other verses) “Repent and be baptized.” Baptized?  But I did that when I was a baby, I grew up in the church.  Lol – just because you grew up in the church and you have Christian parents doesn’t make you a Christian.  God want a relationship with YOU!  That is the basis you were brought up in and that has a huge influence on who you are now, but there is still more.  God wants all of you!  I kept struggling with the same sins, wandering around the same mountains in the wilderness.

1 Peter 3:21 “…this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also – not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge/response of a good conscience towards God.”  Baptism is not to wash you clean from your sins, Jesus already did that for you when He died on the cross.  It’s a pledge that you choose Him.  It makes what you know in your mind about Him, true in your heart too.  It makes it real revelation.

I wanted more, and I found it on 15 June 2011…  The day I finally took the step of obedience that God already prepared for me months (and probably years) in advance.

The day that I died to my old self, doing away with what’s not from God

Started my new life in Christ

And embraced it with all that I am

The waves and storm of life will still come, but my feet are planted more deeply and firmly in Christ.  It’s not about what is going on around you, but about Who is at work within you!  So yes, the temptations will come, it was the same for Jesus, but I don’t have to respond the same way I always did, because I am a new creation in Christ!

So do you want to know Him more?  Then don’t only say yes with your mouth and flesh, but with your heart and your spirit too.  Walk in the Spirit, every day of your life…

Awesome Linel. Dis wonderlik om te hoor en sien dat God so besig is in en deur julle. Mag die tyd wat voorle net nog meer onbeskryflik wees. Geniet elke oomblik en stuur groete daar.
