What a blissful time! And when we say bliss. We mean Holy Spirit FIRE!
Seven days, eleven willing hearts and multiple touched lives, ours included. We spent such a short time in Malaysia, so short we didn't even think it would be worth it. Boy were we wrong!
I don't quite have words to describe what happened here. So I'd rather share some short testimonies:
We served the homeless three times in the week we were here. That's not what impacted us so much though, it was going out and seeing familiar faces sitting on the street corner, staring at nothing.
It was telling them that Jesus loved them, and receiving a "that can not be, I'm a bad man" in return.
It was censing the hopelessness. The hurt. The rejection and sometimes even the worthlessness.
We stayed at a facility that has a outreach towards the homeless and the lost, providing breakfast and lunch on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. With a small church service followed by lunch on Saturday.
We as a team grew tremendously! In worship, in prayer, boldness! Sharing, caring and loving. We stepped out in faith many times, and we were met. Miraculously many times.
We prayed for so many lost and dazed people, we even prayed for a Catholic girl and saw how the spiritual was fighting within her as she prayed giving her life to Christ! A man was baptized in the middle of kitchen by a teammate whilst we were busy cleaning up after lunch. Yes, as if it was just another daily task. Something ordinary.
Boldness! BOLDNESS! New gifts came to life! Altogether we can truly say, Malaysia was a place of growth and intimacy with God.
We leave with flames in our hearts. Facing the finish with faith, hope and enthusiasm. Whimsy and evangelism seamed to have become part of daily team life.
