Ok so in the last couple of weeks in Russia half of the team, aftrer a short break, started their second camp while the rest of us (the same group Danica blogged about) with an Austrailian missionary there headed off to a small village three hours outside of Krasnoyarsk.
While we were there we stayed at a church there and worked with the pastor. We did minor renovations to the church (from wallpapering to putting up ceiling tiles), odd jobs around town, teachings and testimonies at night, and a couple of crusades. But our main desire was to speak with and build relationships with the villagers. If you'e ever been to Russia (or know some Russians) then you know they can sometimes be a bit hard and unfriendly at first. This would usually be a bit of a problem at first but once they saw that there was something different about us and that we actually cared about them, then they would open up and become the most kind, generous people. They would gladly give you the shirt off their back if you asked for it (not that we ever did of course).
The people there were really hungry for Christ and as we shared with them the hope and change in our lives because of God many chose to give their lives to Him as well. We saw quite a few people get saved and did six baptisms in the freezing river.
All in all iff you feel like going to Russia i would highly recommend it. The scenery is breathtaking and the work God is doing in the peoples hearts is even more beautiful. But be warned before you go, you won't make friends r aquaintences there but sisters, brothers, fathers and mothers.
