Luke 10 -Day 3

We took a shuttle bus to the next town, Escuintla.

At the drop off point we sat in the sun and waited…waiting is very hard work if you are not sure what you are waiting for! Marisa and Herman went to call the man from the bakery, but there was no answer.  We tried to catch a lift, but to no avail. Marisa and Herman went in search of the man’s house and the rest of us stayed with the baggage. Eventually a man came and sat down next to us and we started chatting about this and that.  After about 30 minutes Elzet gave him a Spanish Bible.  Christine shared the gospel with him in short (we saw Herman and (presumably) the man from the

bakery approaching the group in a car.)

We all got into his car and went to his house.

He offered us something to drink and cooked for us while we sat around the kitchen table keeping him company.  After a very delicious lunch/dinner we shared our beliefs with him.   It turned into a very long discussion as he does not believe in the spiritual – we keep praying that God will reveal the truth about Jesus Christ to him.  After about two to three hours of talking, his wife and kids came home.  His wife invited us to see how they make one of their traditional meals at her sister’s house.  A little while later we were all sitting in the f

ront yard of a small house chatting and watching how they prepare the meal.

After we went back to the man’s house where we would spend the night some of the group stayed up and chatted some more with the man and drank coffee, while the rest showered and went to sleep.
