Global Challenge South America: adventure awaits!

This blog will be where I give feedback about our travels, share exciting stories about our times with the people from South America and the Caribbean and testify of God's perfect plan of love, playing out in our lives as human beings every day

Building a School, leaving a Legacy!

A happy and satisfied Global Challenge team put their paintbrushes and hammers down on Friday evening, after a week of intense sanding and painting to help build the GLA Ecocampus School in Jeffreys Bay. The Ecocampus vision: to raise future leaders with firm core values who will impact and serve their community and beyond.

As part of our first big project, everybody got jobs allocated to them, from making food, to financial management, to raising awareness,
to fundraising through sponsorships, "blikskud" and busking.

At the school building site during the day we had the chance to develop our building skills, overcome our fear of heights on 3m high scaffolding and have fun while chatting and singing to the rhythm of the paintbrush.

One morning we also decided to walk through the half raised up walls of the school and pray over each classroom and future teacher and student; praying purpose and light into their lives for decades to come. For living by faith as in Heb 11, "faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see".

Praise God for faith being built through His amazing provision this week and relationships and unity being built through participating in a Godly vision. We are now forever part of this legacy and hold on to a promise: "I will finish it!" says the Lord.

You can still join us by participating in our Break an Egg, Build a School fundraising initiative or donate on our website at www.gcex.org.

Marli I suppose you're no longer working in Vancouver. This looks amazing and I'm excited for the impact this place will have on the community it's in. I'm super excited I came across this today. God Bless you.
