Coffee Capital

The time has come for us, with much expectation, to head to the coffee capital of the world, and we werent dissapointed.

It started of with so much excitement of seeing the parents on their visit, eating sweets and biltong, receiving gifts and letters of encouragements for us to finish the journey strong. There is something comforting receiving rusks with a note in your mothers handwriting.

Colombia has been a time of reflecting on the year thus far, what I have learned, refocusing on the journey and not letting my thoughts drift back home, re evaluating why I am on this journey and motivating myself that even though we are starting to face the end, there is still so so many opportunities to be taken, chats to be had and Jesus's love to be shared with a dark and beaten world.

I think one of the moments that will stand out for me of this year happened in Santa Marta. With a desire to bring back a Crossfit shirt from a south american Crossfit gym, I started asking around everywhere we went if I will be able to buy those shirts at the gyms, but with no success. Then in Santa Marta I contacted Crossfit Bearcave. I was invited for a free exercise session aswell as to discuss their shirt prices. Once I arrived I ran into the owner, told him who I was and what we are doing this year. It only took him about 10min to come to me with these shocking words: You can come as many times as you like and gym here for free (classes cost about R100 each), the shirts are about R250, but we are going to give one to you for free.

After billtong, this is the biggest personal blessing I couldve received on this journey. Not only did God bless me with great new friends that welcomed me back any time and an above standard workout every morning, but my time spent with them wouldve cost me well over R1 000. Im still not sure why they would give a stranger that they might never see again so much. All I know is that I got blessed above my wildest expectations.

Thank you Jesus.
